Indiana Professional PGA
The Indiana Professional PGA is sponsored mainly by the Pepsi Company and has a very large group of followers. The Pepsi Company was very proud to award the player of the year award to Alan Schutte. It seems that Mr. Schutte has received the player of the year award for the past five year. The Indiana Professional PGA award has been kept by Alan Schutte ever since he began as a professional player.
The Indiana Professional PGA Open and the 91st Indiana State Open championship is what brought him into the clubhouse at an 11 under par with rounds 71-68-68-66 and a back to back wins with his 2005 Open title. Alan just narrowly missed the national championship title after a three-hole sudden-death playoff against Ron Philo Jr. of Westchester, NY. Alan finished in 10th place or better in each Indiana event that he entered. Alan Schutte now had the kind of wins that were fruitful as he had accumulated 1,578.75 points to his credit. He bettered his opponent Quinn Griffing by 64 points. As you can see becoming a PGA Professional takes a lot of work and a lot of energy.
Indiana Professional PGA has presented Alan with both the Pepsi Player of the Year Award and the Club Car Assistant Player of the year award at the same time (2002). Alan can boast very proudly that since he has become a PGA Member no other Indiana Section Professional that no other player has been able to edge him out of the Player of the Year seat.
Indiana Professional PGA hosts the assistant player Club Car of the Year award. This year they were proud to present it to Ryan Ford winning it for the second year in a row. Mr. Ford has won points from seven games out of nine which gave him the lead over Woodstock’s Ricky Jones. Ford accumulated 445 points and 88 points ahead of Ricky Jones which helped him to regain his position as the assistant player Club Car of the Year award.
The Indiana Professional PGA state open this year was won with one-under par for a 13th place finish consisting of rounds of 71-69-70-73 and the professional golfer was Ryan Ford. This secured his place in the Indiana Open as he was leading all other Indiana assistants. Ford also tied for first for all assistance in the Northern Open. When Mr. Ford finished playing in the Northern Open he had tied for 10th and 24th overall, respectively.

Mr. Ford found that he had finished third and fourth out of two of his three tournaments. He realized that he must now play in The Southern Open since he had been so successful in the Indiana Professional PGA tournaments he felt that he was ready for the Southern Open. The Southern Open did go very well for Mr. Ford as he place third of all assistance. Mr. Ford is now looking forward to the 2007 tournament season as a Class A PGA MEMBER. Mr. Ford credits his wins to the support of his family and all his loyal fans.
The Pepsi Senior Player of the Year award this year was won by Bill Schumacher who has been the winner for the past seven consecutive years. The Indiana Professional PGA championship was won by Mr. Schumacher who took first place in 2006. Bill finished with a tie for the 11th at the National Senior Professional Championship after carding scores of 70-72-69-68 for a total of 279 points and a share of the purse.
Bill was very pleased with a win like that he would automatically be invited to the 2007 Indiana Professional PGA tournaments.
