The beautiful bluegrass state known as Kentucky offers many Golf Resorts. The Golf Resort and Kentucky has been rated a top ten by Golf Digest. The Peninsula Golf Resort located in Lancaster, Kentucky is the primary Golf Resort for the state. Golf Resort and Kentucky discussion would not be complete without information pertaining to the Peninsula Golf Resort. Pete Dye built this 18 hole championship course in 1997. The course is stretched across 200 acres of rolling terrain and hosts a number of events. Lush Bermuda style fairways sweep through natural contours and elevations producing breathtaking sights. There are 60 bunkers placed strategically around the fairways by Mr. Dye. The challenge at this remarkable Resort lasts down to the very last hole. The bent grass effect is present at every hole which makes for an entertaining round. It seems that all players of every caliber will enjoy the Peninsula experience.

The Golf Resort and Kentucky is an extraordinary amount of places to visit. I have listed the top ten cities with their number of golf courses but being that it would take for ever to list every course and place. I selected the fine city of Louisville, Kentucky with all of it’s famous Resorts and Hotels to review for your convenience. The following are located in Louisville, Kentucky:

All ten of these Hotels are only a few miles away from a Golf Resort in Louisville which hosts thirty-one different fairways. The probability of not getting a green is null. The beautiful city offers excellent food and entertainment. The family can enjoy the sights and entertainment offered or they offer junior camps for kids where they can play golf. The state is renowned for its style of music called “Bluegrass”, founded by Bill Monroe a native son of the area. Normally concerts are happening all around the area with notable stars of the famed Grand Ole Opry. The golfing, the view, the entertainment is all that makes for a wonderful vacation.

I would like to mention a very small town in Kentucky named Paintsville which offers a beautiful 18 hole golf course. The town is placed in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky between two mountains. One of the hills is called Watermelon Mount and the Daniel Boone Outdoor Theatre features plays every evening. The bluegrass sparkles under the moonlight showing the moon when it is full as being blue. The eighteen hole golf course has night play and there is no other sight so beautiful to play a good game of golf. I know from experience because that is the place I was born and my family at one time owned the land where the golf course is placed. My grandfather planted the beautiful grass and helped in the layout. Our family has an honory free membership in the local golf club and I have played many games with my dad. If you are looking for a more serene surroundings the course in Paintsville, Kentucky will be your choice. copyright 2006 golfing-schools.com
