Irish Golf Schools

Irish Golf Schools

International Golf Schools are located all over Europe but the one’s that really stand out is the Irish Golf School in Dublin, Ireland. The beautiful countryside in itself is worth the trip. Ireland is famous for its rolling hills, moors, and cobblestone streets that only add to the charm of the surrounding the school. The Irish Golf School manager meets you upon your arrival. The driver will assist you with your luggage and show you to your luxury motor coach. The luxury coach features air conditioning, reclining seats, TV and a Video Player. This is just the start of a beautiful vacation and an excellent school.

Early arrival is no problem your check in has all been arranged. Upon your arrival, a session of golf for the afternoon at the Portmarnock Golf Club is scheduled on the Irish green overlooking the beautiful hills. The Portmarnock has hosted a number of Irish Championships in the past decades and you will find no better place to start with your Irish Golf School lessons. You will be fascinated with this fairway as they are perils on just about every green. The 14th and 15th are the schools most famous holes as it is played with a left to right wind off the sea, the par three 15th may call for as much as a driver , and nearly requires you to send your ball out over the boundary fence and allow the strong breeze to bring it safely to the green.

Dublin, Ireland is great for the non-golfer as well with a rich historical flavor, founded by the Vikings a thousand years ago. Dublin itself is a thriving cosmopolitan city it has elegant hotels, restaurants, pubs and shops. A visit to the Malahide Castle can be arranged. Later that evening you will be welcome to attend a dinner hosted by your tour manager. The Irish Golf School and the beautiful city of Dublin offer a lot to tourists and golfers both.

The fun part about attending the Irish Golf Schools is that you get to travel to other areas of Ireland. The next morning after breakfast, you catch a train to Killarney where you go to the beautiful Killarney Towers Hotel. The Killarney Arms is located right in the center of the city where you can take time to visit the charm of Ireland and enjoy the hospitality that is offered. Fine foods and wines are prepared for you and they are the most delicious delicacies you would ever want to try. You will play golf at the European Club another beautiful spot in Ireland.

The next golf course that you will play is the Old Head Golf Links. The Irish Golf Schools offer a tremendous combination of courses with greens and fairways. The Old Head is located on the south coast of Ireland. This course was designed by a combination of Ireland’s greatest past golfing heroes and recognized international contemporary design experts -led by Joe Carr, Ron Kirby, Paddy Merrigan and Eddie Hackett. The non-Golfers may like to sightsee in Cork. Cork is the second city of the Republic and claims to be the cultural capital. This city was built on an island formed by two channels of the River Lee; Cork was a monastic settlement in the 17th century. There are many architectural pleasures to be discovered in the city, including the French Gothic cathedral and St. Anne’s Shandon, where the famous Bells of Shandon are played upon request.

The next day your morning round is at the Waterville Golf Club which is a championship course that links the Atlantic Ocean. This course has been called a “magnificent monster” by Sam Snead. John Mulcahy the founder of this course loved it so much that he had his ashes buried under the tee box at the 17th hole. The Irish really take their golfing very seriously. The Irish Golf Schools offer the best in golfing as well as great places to visit for the non-golfer. This is a great way to have a vacation with your spouse or even a honeymoon if you are both golfers. This golf course is the longest of the Irish courses and is considered the hardest of all the courses to play. I am sure by now you are ready for the challenge!

The Irish Golf Schools offer the following golf courses with great fairways and greens:

- Tralee Golf Club created by Arnold Palmer
- Ballybunion Old Course is a treat for all golfers.
- Newmarket-on-Fergus and the Dromoland Castle Hotel, which dates, back to 1570 and was the home of the Royal O’Brien clan.
- Lahinch Golf Club is known as the “St. Andrews of Ireland”, was originally laid out by old Tom Morris.

Sunday has arrived and you will attend a cocktail party and farewell dinner hosted by your tour manager. Then you will be leaving the lovely scenery that only Ireland can provide. You will have enjoyed the Irish Golf Schools offered at each club as though you were on vacation.
